Tactics The elite mind prefers to start an encounter from ambush, hiding and activating his tattoos and mind blade before charging at his target. Because his shield falls when he expends his psionic focus, the elite mind will save his Psionic Weapon feat for a killing stroke.
New Feat
Manifest Shield [Psionic]
Prerequisites: naturally psionic (racial power point reserve of 1 pp or more), mind blade class feature
Effect: While psionically focused, whenever you manifest your mind blade, you may manifest a shield of energy as a free action. This shield grants a +2 shield bonus to AC. The shield requires a free hand to use, but it has no max Dex bonus, no armor check penalty, and no arcane spell failure chance. If you expend your psionic focus or become unfocused for any reason, the shield dissipates.
Special: If you are of sufficient level to manifest a mind blade with an enhancement bonus, you may transfer some or all of this bonus to the shield, increasing the bonus to AC and reducing the bonus to attack and damage. Transferring this enhancement bonus requires a standard action that provokes attacks of opportunity.
